Boy by Toti OBrien
One male body sprung out
of a diaspora of roots, first met
at a lakeshore on a Sunday.
Seen from underneath
in its reed-like precariousness
the old-fashioned swim trunks
an erasure, a minus sign.
One male body coalesced
out of subterranean currents
summoned by the hooked index
of fate, random, inexorable.
